Wind Direction: East
Wind Stength: F2-4
Surf / Sea State: rough
Air Temperature: warm
Sea Temperature: warm
Weather: cloudy
Max Speed: 14.39 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 3.9 walked (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

I saw Squiz / Hurrells email for early start 8-9am and chose to kip till 10am. Bad call bitch cos at least they caught the wind and all I caught was calluses doing the walk of shame twice as the wind died. I didn't even get in the straps. Arrived 11 ish the 4 guys out were looking good riding the big incoming waves side on through the troughs with kit 6/7m. Part Rigged 6.7m and noticed no one planning! Crap, rigged 7.3 praying the wind came back, but nope, and the easterly shore dumps were ramping up with zero wind on the beach to launch. Voodoo doctor Ali last week said I should be more optimistic and have a go even when the conditions look dire! OK Ali next time I see you mate your dead cos I tried that crap and walk 3nm and I don't have a frekking dog (unless you are call my JP146 a dog board)
I couldn’t get off the beach after 20 mins and gave up when my board cracked against the gryone. I then walked the 200mtrs to kite zone and stupidly launched in no wind. Amazingly light weight Ian did the same and was planning great. I wallowed back past the dip (should have quit then) but remember the voodoo doctor optimistic voodoo message and tried to get going. Approaching the last beach hut (next stop fludges) I bailed out and beached after 20 mins swim. The gear was smashed on the beach like a rag with the big waves and I followed head first on the other wave, in the rinse cycle clueless where I was. The beach hut guys said they were watching with dread and was going to call the coast guard. Lucky nothing broke (I haven't done a final inspection, but I think my 48cm fin has damage,a bottom sail batten broken, and the board has a 2” crack. My back needs Physio Monday. Thanks to Squiz and the Hurrells they walked my gear back yet again. Hurrells and Ian had a great sail, ripping through the troughs and so did Squiz even though he said not. Pete didn’t bother to rig, Colsey miraculously missed a groyne and disaster, but suffered damage later after having a few decent runs and Nick on proper slalom kit said he is flogging it all and buy a cheap board for the rough dip waters :)
Ian was still planning like crazy! I missed all the action with the yatch and the kite crash as I was in the rinse cycle getting a serious wash. Seriously? windsurfing is *rap and makes no sense. Wasted all day getting hammered and not a decent beer in sight! Squiz cruelly told me Hamilton had crashed (had a win treble with Bolt and Chelsea) depressing me even further until I manage to get to the radio.... yep all won and I live to fight another day after Golden Horn lost the Ebor. 1 star means I should have stayed home and watched Usain dip in front of Gatlin, Hammy nipping Rosberg and Chelsea clipping WBA, big sports day all with a Coors light.....
